Modular Belts and Chains

Modular belts and chains are manufactured from standard materials such as PP (polypropylene) and POM (polyoxymethylene/acetal), which together cover most of the demand for modular belts.

PP offers good impact resistance and is suitable for high temperatures up to 100°C. PP is also inexpensive, which is why it is generally considered to be the most popular material. The disadvantages? It is not suitable for temperatures below 0°C and is slightly softer than POM, making it more sensitive.

In many cases where PP does not meet the requirements, POM is sufficient. POM is suitable for lower temperatures down to about -45 °C and is a very strong material in terms of tensile strength. Due to its hardness, the material is less susceptible to wear and tear and is therefore suitable for accumulation. However, caution should be exercised in applications where products fall onto the belt. POM has a relatively low impact resistance and can burst in the event of strong impacts.

Lower cost of ownership

Thanks to the ability to replace individual modules, a belt can be easily repaired instead of being replaced. As a result, the total cost of ownership of the conveyor can be reduced.

Minimization of downtime

The simple replacement of individual modules minimizes downtime if the belts are damaged. By carrying spare strap material in stock, the repair can be carried out easily and without external support.

Flexible Configuration

By combining different modules and accessories, a belt can be tailored to the customer’s requirements without sacrificing standard components. Different types of perforations (0%, 20%, 35%) in combination with different types of accessories (cleats, side guards, grip inserts) ensure extensive customization options.
